Time flies when you're having fun!

It is hard to believe that my daughter is almost 10 months old already!  It is so amazing watching her development.  I can already tell that she is very willful and has a great sense of humor!  We finally got her on a sleep schedule (at least at night) and she is sleeping through the night (between 11-12 hours straight)!  It has made such a difference for her and us and I can't believe we didn't do it sooner!

Life is good!

Craft Project - Blankie!

I just made a super cute blankie for my daughter!  It is made out of fleece and was really easy and fun!  She loves touching the frogs on the front!

Lifestyle changes...

Well, I guess nothing is worth having if you aren't willing to sacrifice for it!  So that's why I have started my pre-pregnancy diet plan.  We are hoping to add to our family soon and in preparation, I need to get into a more healthy lifestyle.  This basically consists of cutting out my caffeine (so over the next week or so I will be somewhat difficult to deal with), eating more salads and meats and less bread and sweets, walking more (which is easy these days, since my daughter has decided that she should start walking before she's 9 months old) and no more liquor (this one is a toughie, considering I drink one cocktail a month, if that...)!
I have to say that day one is a quasi-success...  I managed to only drink a half a cup of coffee, no sodas and only water the rest of the day.  I even had a salad for lunch!  However, I never made it on the band wagon for breakfast (seeing how I scarfed down a cream cheese bagel on my way to work) and dinner was a semi-disaster (home-made calzones).  At least I'm not having to do it cold-turkey this time! :)

The Meaning of Life...

I often stop to ponder the meaning of life (ya' know, in my free time); while I'm sitting in traffic, as my daughter is laughing at something silly I do, when I think about my Mom and step-sister and others that lost their lives far too early, etc.
Sometimes I have to remind myself that some people haven't had to experience loss in the same way that I have.  When I see someone (or catch myself) taking life for granted and adding stress to their lives I have to take a moment and remind myself that not every one is as blessed to know just how precious life is and how it can be so short.  And even though it came a at great cost, I do consider the ability to view life this way as a blessing.

So the next time you are enjoying a moment with your family, just cherish it and know that you are lucky to be living in that moment!

Bridal Shower Success

I hosted a Bridal Shower for my Sister-in-Law today!  It was wonderful, if I do say so myself!  I love planning parties and this one was no exception!

The scene was reminiscent of the leaves changing in the fall with ivory, orange and brown tones throughout.  The favor boxes were in the shape of a cake.  With each piece of cake containing chocolate covered raisins.  The cupcakes were carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.  There was enough food to feed a small army.  The M&Ms even had the Bride and Groom's names on them.

The blushing bride was radiant and beaming.  The weather was PERFECT (about 78*)!  All in all, I don't think it could have gotten much better!  I am so excited for Heather to get married!  She's just like a sister to me and she's marrying a great guy!

FIRST BLOG EVER!

This is my first blog, EVER!  So here's a little about me:

I am a hard-working, fun-loving, no drama, no regrets kind of mom.  You won't catch me driving a mini-van or listening to rap.  I have an amazing husband and a sweet 'n' sassy little girl!  She's growing so much everyday! I have to say that being a mom has come a lot more naturally for me than I could have imagined.  For me, family is #1!  And we are hoping to expand our little family in the next year or so!
